( a bit of cross posting from my original post on DBB... my fingers are being lazy about typing it all out again today )

As most of you know my precious Abby had gotten out.. yay had come home and at the time I was pausing on the spay but later after I had made that last posting the vet called me back ( I thought I had spoke to her earlier but it was one of the techs.. my bad ) we discussed Abby's adventure and decided I should go ahead and have her spayed. She had her spay yesterday and when I went to pick her up she was crying miserably in her crate. I felt horrible for her but it was best. So she's in the bedroom recuperating free from the wicked chasers aka Dach's. But I have more to add to this story ....

You see the night she decided to come home was the day my sweetheart of a Mommy adopted this little sweetling for me as I was utterly depressed about Abby.

I had spent the day with my Mom under her command to be out of the house and stop my foolish moping. Kitty will come back if kitty wants to she said. She's had so many kitties do the same thing and is a very wise Momma. So it was what I needed. A day out and an excuse to not mope for a bit. We were at our tiny ( and I do mean ) tiny mall and I said I wanted to see the kitties.. She said.. oh Sarah that's a bad idea you will want them all ... I said .. so and trotted off towards them telling her that I can give them some loves and adoption vibes. The local shelter has a small spot in the mall on Saturdays.

Well ... I wandered in said hello to kittens, seniors, adults and youths .. just making my rounds.. and I kinda got stuck at "Bailee's" cage. Her story was of being trapped, brought into foster and given shots and spayed. She was terrified poor precious love. I stood there stroking her side through the crate and telling her that adoption is good and she will get a good furless parent who will spoil her and love her forever. My Mom ... after oo'ing and aw'ing over all the kitties wandered over and said boy she sure is pretty and I said yeah she is... She said You'd take her home wouldn't you ... Well duh.. She knows how pathetic I am over cats. She wanders off .. I thought nothing of it. A volunteer comes over and starts talking to me about "Bailee" and telling me all about how she is in foster and what to expect and all the sudden it dawned on me. I looked around for my Mom and found her sitting over by the little adoption desk with $ in hand talking to the lady that finalizes things. I can hear her telling the woman what I do for a living and the woman's eyes popped open like "oh my" hehe I love that reaction. I focused back on the woman in front of me and answered all her questions and suddenly I'm walking away with a kitty in a cardboard box, suddenly in Walmart infront of the tag engraving machine, suddenly blank realizing I don't want her to be called Bailee and trying to figure out how to as my Mom if I can call her Baby for the cat my Mom so very much loved and lost 2 years ago to kidney failure. Mom getting misty eyed and saying that would be an honor to Miss Baby.

Funniest part is ..when I called my Mom at nearly midnight and told her Abby came home and it was all because she was jealous and our evil plan worked.

Her petfinder photos..

So now... omg. I have 6 cats. 3 dogs. 2 kids 1 hubby. Check Yes for looney bin certification please.
