I'm tired .... it's been a long day of having fun with my Mommy... We were at our last thrifty store when I found the Candy cane arch of my dreams and she got it for me. Merry Christmas that's your prezzie she said if I wanted it that badly. Yes indeedy do!!!
So ... being exhausted.. what was the first thing I did when I got home? Kicked off my good shoes.. yes.. stuffed on my crappy ol flip flops.. yes.. trudged outside and erected her in all her glorious goodness.
I'm purring... : )
Me so wuvs Christmas time. Hope the neighbors catch onto my thrill and put some lightage up too. Ol' fuddy duds. : )

<-=! Happy Thanksgiving !=->
As I sit here I think about the many things that I am thankful for.
At the moment it's patience with my hubby because sometimes men can be so ignorant about the time it takes to prepare something that will last all of perhaps 30 minutes. Men ... so blissfully unaware of what goes on within their own homes. Sometimes, it truly amazes me.
So .. I thought .. why not take a few tidy'd up before's. Because the afters will be a mess that woman have been dealing with since the "dawn" of Thanksgiving.
I have a wee thing for glass and candle holders.
The dishes belonged to my Grandma and I was fortunate enough to be given them when she was still living in Oregon. It's very rare that they come out. I'm terrified they will get a chip or even worse. It would be one more bit of once was gone. But Holidays make me braver and make me want to use the pretty stuff. No Corelle tomorrow. : )

Amaryllis
Each year I walk past the bulbs in a box wanting one but never getting one. I could never figure out the connection to this want until finally breaking down, buying one and bringing it home. It sat on my counter for a couple of days while I contemplated the draw I had to this particular flower. It dawned on me and I made a call to my Mom. She confirmed that it was something she and Dad bought as a gift for my Grandpa who loved flowers and all things gardening dearly. "What color did you get for him?" .... "Oh.. the red one" we chatted some more and then hung up.
I felt a little bit choked up as I thought about the Red Lion bulb that sat on my counter.
This year will be the first year without my Grandpa. His passing in September is still all to fresh in my mind and his presence is missed greatly. But I find a little bit of comfort looking at my little wee bulb in it's pot and it reminds me of what an amazing love for life my Grandpa had.
It's going to be my tradition now. To get a red bulb every single year. To remember him, to honor him and just to enjoy because they are so darned pretty when they bloom!

wee little heads
When asked for help on head sizes I jumped at the opportunity to do something more useful than gawk at Facebook. There is nothing I like better than lending a helping hand.. or in this case measuring Dachsie noodles. I whipped out the tape, got the camera ready and plopped to the floor calling them to me.
The following is a short summary of reactions to the tape.
Molly .. the bravest of the brave always comes to me first thinking there is something to be had.
She sat for the pose quaking in her little space booties. Something about the mean ol' yellow tape didn't agree with her. Treat Coaxing and *flash*
Shiloh .. There I was thinking he would be easy as pie. He's blind, he can't run. Ha it's made in the shade. Well there is a little something that Shiloh does when he gets near you. The tongue comes out, the nose comes up sniffin the air and he makes the cutest little whining sounds. Yesh yessssshh love me now please yesh loves? After a few minutes of vigorous loves to get him calmed down enough he was wrapped in tape. *flash*
Kai .. Good grief .. Speaking of noodle the moment I wrapped it around his eager head he would flop to the floor like a limp rag with his head to the side. Like nooo .. me so shy! Argh .. Once again a bit of treat coaxing .. *flash*
BeBe ... the wimpiest of my 4 too his taping like a hardened veteran. Just sat there and pretty much said .. ok just do it .. but I get a treat for this you know. *flash*

Make Room for Me!!!
Boredom often facilitates a drive north to go walk through the Antique stores. Usually.. there isn't a single thing I could touch price wise but I love to look. It's fun to see "new" old things and imagine where they once lived in someone's home. Was it a gift from Grandma, Auntie or Mom? Was the piece something special? Was it handed down ... or was it something they found that gave them a moment of pure Squeeeee at finding it.
But ... sometimes I find something within my price range and it's a squeee moment. Pure joy at knowing I can scoop something up and actually take it home with me. A new home, a new treasure to love. All mine mine mine.
So .. my latest.. $8.50, double sided taped onto a bit of cardboard. I nearly walked past it but upon closer inspection. Oh my .. Oh yes.. It was a Momma Ween and her 4 babies.
Now... I just have to figure out how to make her a little mini nest so she can nurse her puppies in comfort instead of being stuck to that bit of cardboard. ;)

To Squee ... or not to Squee ...
Oh today ... I so squee'd... like a little girl the moment I wandered into the Florence Humane Society's Christmas Store they set up for approx 20 days each November. A visual orgasm of sorts if you will. I was tickled beyond belief. I do LOVE Christmas something fierce. There isn't anything better than a granny apron, baking, the house glistening from tippity top to bottom with ornaments, tinsel and twinkling lights along with the sound of good old Bing Crosby casting his spell with a tune or two..
Emma toddling behind saying Kismas, Santa ooooohhhh lookie and me just bug eyed at all the lovely eye candy galore just waiting for me to gobble it up.
To the back of the store I went where the lovely ziplock bags of ornaments lay waiting like innocent prey.. All priced $1.00 each I went through each and everyone scrutinizing the goodies within until I found something well worth over a dollar. In the end the entire table you're about to view was less than 20 dollars and I am one HAPPY "little" girl. :)
How could one not Squee over such a joyful load of vintage "Kismas" goodies?
I found 2 of these... oh double squeeeeee
Be still my heart.. Ok so I paid 5 bucks for the box but it was so totally worth it.
Ahhhh even the boxes make me happy. ( colored old glass bulbs within.. nothing fancy but still something to cherish )
Plastic Icicles. I love the no melt kind!
I was utterly in heaven just looking at my goodies... Who needs chocolate when you have "Kismas" eh?
A gorgeous larger indent still intact with original flocking. :)
Santa.. in his sleigh .. the best part was upon closer inspection of the tiny packages ... vintage Christmas paper. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Now tell me .. who wouldn't be happy looking at such cheerful things?
Shiloh gives this a lip licking approval! ( ok so I cheated and he just had din din... )
